The Toronto Metropolitan University Chapter of SAGE is a student-led community dedicated to advocating for better geriatric care and the spreading awareness about the importance of intergenerational connection. Founded in 2022, our chapter brings together students from diverse programs who share a passion for creating meaningful, measurable impact both on campus and in the wider community. We host workshops, volunteer initiatives, and campus-wide events designed to educate, engage, and inspire students to take action. Our members gain hands-on leadership experience, build lifelong connections, and contribute to real-world change through national and local projects. Whether you’re looking to volunteer, develop new skills, or meet like-minded peers, the Toronto Metropolitan University Chapter offers a welcoming space for anyone ready to make a difference.

Programs

Companion Calls

Connect volunteers with residents in senior homes through phone and video calls. Through sharing stories, connecting over hobbies, and getting to know one another, we are keeping spirits up during this difficult time.

Pen Pal Letters

Keep residents company during lockdown and to help them remain integrated in their
communities.

Bloom Together

Gardening improves the overall quality of life for residents. We provided long-term care homes with gardening tools, soil, plants, and flowers to help engage residents in a fun and relaxing communal outdoor activity.
